Monitoring Internationalisation of Czech Higher Education (MICHE) – European Universities Alliances focus

Duration

January 2021 - December 2022

Funded by

Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) and implemented by Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), with a group of (inter)national experts

Description

Building on the successful 1st stage of the MICHE project, carried out between 2018-2020, the current stage zooms into the participation of four Czech Higher Education institutions in their respective European Universities alliances, with a view to identify what can be further done at institutional and national level to maximise this participation and its impact internally, as well as at higher education system level in Czech Republic.

To this end, the four participating institutions in the current project:

2021 – 2 institutions from the 1st EUI pilot call

    1. Charles University in Prague – member of 4EU+ alliance – visited in November 2021
    2. Masaryk University – member of EDUC alliance – visited in November 2021

2022 – 2 institutions from the 2nd EUI pilot call

    1. Czech Technical University in Prague – member of EuroTeQ alliance – visited in October 2022
    2. Palacky University Olomouc – member of Aurora alliance – visited in November 2022

Each set of institutions is visited, following a self-assessment stage, for 2,5 days by the group of international experts. The visit is followed by a site visit report with multiple observations and recommendations, that are then validated during an online workshop with the institutional representatives.

At the end of 2022, a national level report with the main findings of this project stage and with recommendations for system-level changes is envisaged.
