1. What is ACA data privacy statement?

The Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) values the protection and confidentiality of your personal data. Therefore, we comply with applicable data privacy legislation with regard to processing personal data.

ACA will use your personal data (name, surname, name of your organisation, position and email address) for the sole purpose of informing you about its activities and news on European and global higher education. Users have the right and possibility to unsubscribe from our mailing lists through an “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any emails. Alternatively, users can email us at: secretariat@aca-secretariat.be or write to: Academic Cooperation Association, 15 Rue d’Egmont, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.

ACA will not pass on, sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease any personal information collected online or offline. All information shall be kept absolutely confidential unless given consent to by the user. ACA will not share your personal information with third parties.

ACA uses secure data networks that are protected by firewall and password protection systems that are consistent with industry standards. ACA’s security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. Only authorised individuals have access to the information provided by our contacts. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information ACA has about you.

2. Who are ACA members?

ACA members are European, nationally-based agencies in charge of the promotion and funding of international cooperation in higher education in their countries. ACA members are involved in a wide range of activities in the field of international cooperation, with particular focus on management of the exchange programmes, promotion of national education and culture, research, provision of education-related information and consultation, and formulating policy advice. In addition to its full members, ACA also has a number of associate members, i.e. organisations of a similar profile from outside Europe. ACA members list

3. How can an organisation become an ACA member?

ACA members are European, nationally-based agencies in charge of the promotion and funding of international cooperation in higher education in their countries, such as DAAD, Nuffic and British Council. ACA members are involved in a wide range of activities in the field of international cooperation, with particular focus on management of the exchange programmes, promotion of national education and culture, research, provision of education-related information and consultation, and formulating policy advice. In addition to its full members, ACA also has a number of associate members, i.e. organisations of a similar profile from outside Europe. Individual higher education institutions, such as universities and university colleges are not eligible for ACA membership. Similarly, individual persons cannot become member of ACA.

4. How do I register for an ACA event?

In order to register for an ACA event, you must fill in the online registration form for the event of your choice in the events section of our website. Please mind to fill in all the required fields and click the “submit data” button at the end of the registration. You will receive an automatic confirmation message upon the completion of your registration. You will receive payment details and practical information about the events by e-mail at a later stage.

5. How can I purchase an ACA publication?

As a service to the higher education community, the PDF format of all the publications are openly accessible from the ACA website free of charge.

The paper version of the ACA publications from its monograph series “ACA Papers on International Cooperation in Education” can be obtained through any bookshop. It can also be ordered from the publisher, Lemmens Medien GmbH, via e-mail: info@lemmens.de.

6. Does ACA provide grants or scholarships?

ACA is not a scholarship organisation and does not provide any funding for students or researchers. Many of our members, however, are scholarship organisations. In the members section of our website, you will find links to the websites of our member organisations and their funding offers.

7. How can I benefit from a reduction to ACA events?

The member's fee of our events applies to staff and personnel from ACA member organisations only, i.e. persons who are employed by a member organisation. Members of member organisations do not receive the member’s fee. Register early to enjoy our early bird discounts.

8. How do I subscribe to the ACA newsletter?

In order to subscribe for the ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, you must fill in the online subscription form on the newsletter page. Please mind to fill in all the required fields and click the “submit data” button at the end of the registration. You will receive an automatic confirmation message upon the completion of your registration. After your subscription you will receive the ACA Newsletter regularly at the end of each month. Should you wish to unsubscribe, please contact the ACA Secretariat.

As a service to the internationalisation community, the monthly ACA Newsletter subscription is free of charge.
