Description

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Building on the successful first stage of the Study in Europe project, ACA is now involved in the second stage of the Study in Europe initiative (2017 – 2020) – the promotion campaign of Europe as a study destination, funded by DG EAC. The consortium implementing the project includes, along the coordinator – Campus France, ACA as well as its member organisations DAAD and the Archimedes Foundation, together with Nuffic and the British Council – all very experienced agencies in matters of international promotion of higher education. The initiative is also supported by all the other higher education promotion agencies in the Erasmus+ programme countries.

This second phase of the project covers:

  • the organisation of six Study in Europe fairs managed via the Study in Europe fairs registration platform (see the platform for further information):

  • managing the Study in Europe portal (hosted on the European Commission’s website), its Facebook page and Instagram account, and thus enhancing the overall social media presence of Study in Europe initiative;
  • refreshing the promotional materials (some examples below):

  • Producing several Study in Europe videos, the first of which was released in December 2018; and
  • maintaining and strengthening cooperation with the internationalisation and promotion agencies in the Erasmus+ programme countries, as well as higher education institutions (HEIs), via peer learning webinars.

WEBINARS

ACA’s role within this phase of the project is related to the organisation of webinars for promotion agencies and higher education institutions (HEIs).

The first webinar for promotion agencies took place on 19 November 2018, under topic ”How to make the most of promotion via social media” and featuring 3 speakers: Mechteld Bous (Nuffic, The Netherlands), Inga Seikstule (Academic Information Center – AIC, Latvia), and Douglas Washburn (Swedish Institute, Sweden).

The second webinar took place on 6 June 2019, under the topic “Online promotion – virtual formats”.

The third webinar for promotion agencies took place on 28 May 2020 and, in light of the global corona outbreak, focused on the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on higher education promotion activities.

The webinar for HEIs took place on 12 June 2019, 10:00 – 11:30 CET, under the title “Study in Europe initiative – higher education fairs in Ethiopia and Nigeria”. For more information about the webinar click here.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

The project team is advised by an expert-level international board, composed of the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA – ACA’s Slovak member organisation), the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance (ESAA), the Spanish National Agency for internationalisation and Erasmus+ (SEPIE) and the Swedish Institute (SI).

The project is also supported by a Monitoring & Evaluation expert, Dr. Uwe Brandenburg, of the Global Impact Institute (GII).
