The Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) is a leading European association supporting research, innovative practice-development and policymaking in international higher education. ACA capitalises on its network of 25 members, national organisations funding international HE, as well as partners, and experts to enable transnational knowledge transfer and foster internationalisation of HE for high-quality, inclusive, innovative, and sustainable education, with impact on the economy and society at large.

ACA's activities in 2024 are framed by the related FPA application (2023-2025) and in line with the ACA Strategy 2023-2027, a result of extensive co-design with the members, and an input from external stakeholders. The objectives for 2024 are threefold: (a) to build the capacity of ACA members’ staff at different levels to deal with key long-standing priorities and emerging topics in international higher education; (b) to support EU policy co-creation processes on topics identified as priority for HE in the European Commission’s Work Programme 2024, and (c) to raise awareness of the impact and added value of the long-standing EU policies and programmes and the newer initiatives in the field of HE, among relevant stakeholders based in Europe as well as their global partner organisations.

To deliver on these objectives, ACA's ambitious plan for 2024 includes four pillars of activities related to organisation management, capacity-building activities and providing support to EU policy co-creation processes and the wider higher education community. The plan offers a mix of activities including events (both internal & external), peer learning exchanges, analysis of policy evidence, representation, communication and dissemination.

This Operating Grant  is aimed at supporting ACA in the delivery of its goals and activities in 2024, contributing to the EU policy objectives in the field of higher education, and to the Erasmus+ programme objectives.
