EduCoach – Personalised online advising for study in Europe orientation

Duration

September 2012 - April 2015

Partner(s)

ACA, AEGEE, Brenn-White Group, DEC Education, Dream Foundation, Eurodoc, GESCO, IFMSA-Jordan, StudyPortals

Description

In 2013, ACA joined StudyPortals and seven other partners in this 3.5-year project to develop and test a number of innovative tools to provide prospective students with real-time online counselling support. These tools sought to help students search and find a suitable academic programme in Europe through interactive dialogues, thus supplementing the static information otherwise available online.

Specifically, the EduCoach project resulted in the following outcomes:
- Online personal counselling tools
- Knowledge Base
- Webinars
- Recruitment Guides for Universities
- Targeted Online Promotion

ACA played a leading role in the development of the recruitment guide for universities by analysing the textual contents generated during the testing phase of the tools, as well as the lessons learnt in the operation of the tools. In preparation of the recruitment guide, a survey to universities and site visits to institutions that have been using the tools were conducted. ACA will also took part in other project activities, particularly in the initial conceptualisation of the tools and the end-of-project evaluation. At ACA, Director Bernd Wächter and Project Officer Queenie Lam-Schöch were responsible for this project.
