ACA Think Pieces: European higher education cooperation in a global context

Following the successful run of ACA’s “Think Pieces” series in 2020 on the world after Covid-19, in 2021 on inclusion in the context of higher education and in 2022 on digitalisation in the higher education sector, ACA continues with a new edition in 2023, focusing on the European higher education cooperation in a global context.

This second piece, written by Robin Matross Helms,  Vice President for Membership and Educational services, Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), reflects on the European Strategy for Universities from a US perspective.  Robin offers suggestions for developing partnerships between US and European institutions,  the greatly aligned goals of employability and workforce development across sectors, and compares the nature of collaborations in the US and Europe. Robin coins the term “divisiveness fatigue” to describe the current climate across US campus’ regarding struggles to balance diversity and inclusion priorities with changing legislation.

We hope you enjoy reading this piece!
