Enhancing the global attractiveness of the European higher education system and (by extension) increasing the number of international students opting for Europe as a study destination have been two major supranational-level policy objectives for more than a decade now. For an even longer period of time, the higher education community has also been concerned with the question of boosting the intra-European mobility of students and academic staff. But how advanced are individual countries in reaching these ambitious goals? And is the target still a quantitative one or has the focus gradually shifted instead to quality aspects? To explore these questions and other challenging implications of this phenomenon, join us in Brussels on 3 December for the ACA Seminar Mobility under the magnifying glass: New insights, old challenges, future perspectives.

It will be the perfect venue for learning, amongst other things, about what is currently in the European-level policy pipeline, from Sophia Eriksson Waterschoot of the European Commission and from Peter Greisler, the Chair of the Bologna Process Working Group on Mobility. Dorothy Kelly from the University of Granada and Shaun Curtis from the University of Exeter will speak about mobility strategies at the institutional level and of how to cope with challenges related to this phenomenon in an efficient way.
