Swiss universities offer a number of support measures for career guidance. They often depend on affiliation with a specific university and some of them are outlined here.
Mentoring support for women at the University of Zurich
The University of Zurich supports and encourages all staff and students to use their determination and creativity to ensure equal rights and opportunities for all women and men at the university. Respective webpages, which are only partly available in English, present the gender equality actions and projects of the Executive Board, the Gender Equality Commission, the Office for Gender Equality and Diversity and the universities' seven faculties.
All staff and students at the University of Zurich can turn to the Office for Gender Equality and Diversity for equality-related questions or concerns pertaining to their studies or working conditions. Appointments can be made per telephone or email.
The Réseau romand: Mentoring support for women in French
The Réseau romand is a mentoring program for the next generation of women in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It helps female researchers in resolving all issues related to academic life organisation as well as their scientific project’s completion.
Equal Opportunities and University Development programme by swissuniversities
The "Equal opportunities and university development" programme aims to ensure an even number of men and women in higher education and is concerned with other aspects of inequality and diversity at universities.
The programme helps to secure equal opportunities by means of action plans (module A) and facilitates collaborative beacon projects across universities and the various types of higher education institutions (module B).
