This report is based on a conference held by the European Training Foundation (ETF) on the same topic on 6th and 7th March 2006. The conference focussed on the importance of gender equality in education and employment and the role of vocational education and training in advancing the status of women in society and in strengthening their position in the labour market and business. The publication highlights the conference's main recommendations and conclusions.
