UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) has unveiled the groundbreaking UIS Data Centre, a tool that permits users to track and analyse educational data since 1970.  

The free and user-friendly statistical tool contains time series data tables of enrolment and teaching staff from 175 countries, regions and territories and encompasses everything from pre-primary to tertiary education. Additionally, the new UIS tool offers sorting of data by academic year, school-age population, enrolment, gross enrolment ratio and teaching staff.

Moreover, the tool, which complies with the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED 97), allows users to create custom statistical tables with data for one year, thereby making it a simple and functional instrument to construct comparative analyses of key educational data.
