Martin, M. (ed.), Cross-border higher education: regulation, quality assurance and impact - volumes I & II, UNESCO, Paris: 2007. ISBN: 978-92-803-1302-4. Pages: 363.

This case-study research on cross-border higher education analyses the principal forms and distinctive features of transnational commercial higher education in seven countries (Chile, Oman, Philippines, South Africa, Argentina, Kenya and Russia), with special reference to the context of the higher education system and higher education policy. It identifies current approaches and good practices in regulation and quality assurance (i.e. regulations for opening and functioning as well as ongoing accreditation mechanisms) of transnational commercial provision by receiver countries. It also identifies the impact of these new provisions on the entire higher education system in terms of quality, access, equity and funding.
