Two hellos and one goodbye

The end of September brings with it several staff changes at the ACA Secretariat—one departure and two new arrivals. We are pleased to announce that Queenie Lam is joining us in the role of Project Officer. Queenie is transitioning to ACA from the International Center for Higher Education Research and the International Study Center of the University of Kassel in Germany, where she served as a research assistant. Queenie holds one master’s degree in higher education research and development from INCHER/University of Kassel and another in communication from the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s School of Journalism and Communication.

ACA also welcomes a new trainee, Jehona Serhati.  Jehona is originally from Kosovo, and is currently enrolled in the master’s programme in higher education research and development at the University of Kassel in Germany. She will serve as the ACA Secretariat trainee through the end of January 2011.

We are eager to begin working with our new colleagues!

At the same time, we say a fond farewell to Sarah Walk, who spent three months in Brussels as the ACA trainee.  Sarah will be returning to Boston College in the US, where she will complete the final stage of her master’s degree in higher education.  During her time as trainee, Sarah was involved in the development and implementation of several information technology and marketing projects, in addition to her role as junior editor of ACA Newsletter – Education Europe.  ACA extends a gleeful thanks to Sarah for her contributions and wishes her the best in her final months of graduate school!
