Tuning Educational Structures started as a project in 2000 in order to assist linking the objectives of the Bologna process and the Lisbon strategy with the higher education sector. The project has been successful and has now initiated a new journal on higher education issues hosted by University of Deusto and University of Gronigen. The first volume of this journal offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about the history of Tuning projects and their contributions to improve higher education quality, transparency and transferability. Whether it be the design of degree profiles, the proper profiling of higher education institutions or teaching in learning reforms – the journal gives interesting insights into tuning projects with examples form Europe, Latin America and Africa.
