ACA’s member from Hungary, the Tempus Public Foundation (TPF) has just celebrated its thenth birthday. TPF is a non-profit organisation supervised by the Hungarian Ministry of Education. Its objectives are to develop Hungarian intellectual resources, to support initiatives aiming at the modernisation and quality improvement of education and training, to introduce and strengthen European dimension in this field and to promote Hungary's accession to the EU. These aims are met mainly via the management of international cooperation programmes and special projects in the field of education, training and EU-related issues.

Initially TPF dealt only with higher education (Tempus, Socrates / Erasmus programme). Year after year new EU and national programmes joined, while the target group became wider: Besides school education and vocational training TPF now offers possibilities for NGOs, enterprises and researchers on every level and for every actor of the education-training-research sector in Hungary. TPF has done a lot for the development of cooperation in the field of education, training and human resources development.
