Thou shall learn to be creative

As reported in the December 2008 edition of the ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, the year 2009 had been declared the European Year of Creativity and Innovation with the objective of promoting “creative and innovative approaches in different sectors of human activity and contributing to better equip the European Union for the challenges ahead in a globalised world”.

With the "Manifesto for Creativity and Innovation in Europe", one of the key outcomes of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 has been presented to Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso on 12 November 2009. The document is the result of a collective work of the Ambassadors of the Year, who are leading European personalities from the fields of culture, science, business, education and design. Containing “Seven Commandments”, the Manifesto strives to shape the EU's strategy for promoting creativity and innovation for the next decade.
