As the title indicates, this publication investigates private higher education in Poland. It argues that the Polish higher education system has shown that, if the state decides to treat private higher education on an equal basis as the public sector, the private sector can contribute to increasing access to higher education as well as to enhancing academic quality. According to the authors, this can be supported by a state policy that would promote authonomy, transparency, and equal access to state subsidies for public and private providers.
