The new President of ACA – Welcome Rolf Tarrach!

ACA is pleased to announce that the General Assembly of its member organisations unanimously elected Rolf Tarrach, the Rector of the University of Luxembourg, as the new ACA President, at its meeting on 12 December in Riga, Latvia. Rolf Tarrach is a Spanish national and a nuclear physicist by training, and has held professorships at the universities of Valencia, Barcelona and St. Petersburg. His extensive international experience and high commitment to the internationalisation of higher education made him an ideal candidate for ACA Presidency. The Secretariat and all ACA members are looking forward to working with him.

On the same occasion, the General Assembly elected Gunn Mangerud, the Director of ACA’s Norwegian member SIU, as its new Vice-President. ACA is thankful to her for taking up this demanding task, and looks forward to a fruitful cooperation.

ACA would like to take this opportunity to express its gratitude to the outgoing ACA President Sir Peter Scott, the Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University, who has dedicated significant amounts of time, effort, and ideas to leading ACA during the past six years. ACA wishes him all the best, and expresses its commitment to continued cooperation in the future.
