The new ERA Talent Platform launched

On 10 June 2024, the European Commission launched a new ERA Talent Platform offering a new solution and milestone towards an interconnected European Research Area (ERA). Aimed at research performing organisations and individual researchers, the comprehensive platform offers seamless access to a variety of services, including:

  • EURAXESS service centers and portals;
  • the HR Excellence in Research initiative;
  • the RESAVER pension scheme;
  • the Innovation Talent Platform, and;
  • the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory.

The centralised platform provides key information about existing services and also enhances the interoperability across initiatives. The platform was launched in the framework of the EURAXESS Biennial Conference of 2024, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders and the European and global network of EURAXESS. The Commission also announced revamping of the European EURAXESS portal, which now enables researchers and research performing organisations to navigate and access information more easily, to apply for positions and to benefit of the various services provided by the EURAXESS network. The portal also enhances improved integration with other data systems, including EUROPASS, while also improving performance and security measures to protect user data.

Established two decades ago, the EURAXESS initiative has, among other objectives, aimed to facilitate the movement of researchers. The EURAXESS network includes 43 member countries, including over 610 service centers, providing information on 18 topics. Eight ACA members: AMEUP (Croatia), CMEPIUS (Slovenia), NAWA (Poland), Nuffic (Netherlands), OeAD (Austria), Rannis (Iceland), SAIA (Slovakia) and swissuniversities (Switzerland) act as coordinators of the national EURAXESS networks.
