Dr Budd Hall and Dr Rajesh Tandon, chairmen of the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, have launched a new book detailing the history of the K4C Consortium and its evolution from its launch in Canada and India in 2017.

Dr Rajesh Tandon is a practitioner of participatory research and development. He is the founder of Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), and UNESCO Chair in this field since 2012. Budd Hall is a Professor Emeritus with the School of Public Administration at University of Victoria and Co-Chair of the UNESCO Chair.

The UNESCO Chair in this field was created at the request of UNESCO as a partnership between the University of Victoria and the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) located in New Delhi, India. Its objective is to build research capacity in the global South and the excluded North in the field of community-based research. It strives to achieve this through collaboration with a number of global networks, advocacy work with governments and funding bodies and training opportunities with the Knowledge for Change (K4C) Consortium in Community Based Research.
