Over the month of May, participants of The Inclusion ACAdemy engaged in thought-provoking and informative sessions led by experts in the field of providing inclusive support.
Valerie Mertens from the SIHO centre presented tools and resources for supporting students going on mobilities navigating mental health issues. Jeanine Gregersen - Hermans and Marina Casals presented their emerging approach towards inclusive comprehensive internationalisation, currently being developed as part of the ICI project.
These sessions were complemented by group discussions, where participants unpacked real life examples of complex situations happening at universities. Through exploring solutions, participants considered the different systemic layers involved, and shared perspectives on reassessing existing practices in order to create a welcoming institutional environment.
The input received in the discussions will contribute to the ongoing development of roadmaps to assist higher education institutions in implementing the Inclusion and Diversity horizontal priority of the ErasmusPlus programme 2021 – 2027 at their national and institutional levels.
The Inclusion ACAdemy is a tailor-made training series on the topic of inclusion and widening participation in international programmes, designed for higher education institutions (HEIs) from Austria, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Iceland and Slovenia. The training series has been created to support HEIs in implementing the Inclusion and Diversity horizontal priority of the Erasmus+ programme 2021 – 2027, but its outputs are also applicable to other mobility programmes.
