The future of Europe = the future of Erasmus+

Five ACA members with representation in Brussels—the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, Branch Office in Brussels), the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir, NorCore), the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS, CZELO), the Swiss National Agency for Exchange and Mobility (Movetia, SwissCore) and VLUHR International—together with the ACA Secretariat, are organising an event titled “The Future of Europe = The future of Erasmus+” on 29 April 2025, from 12:00 t0 16:30 CEST at the Palais des Académies in Brussels.

Erasmus+ plays a crucial role in shaping Europe’s future, being at the intersection of key EU priorities—competitiveness, social cohesion, the digital and green transitions, skills development, the promotion of European values, and the EU’s role in the world. As discussions around the next Erasmus+ programme (2028-2035) gain momentum, it is essential to strike a balance, ensuring the programme remains strategically aligned with evolving political priorities while preserving and enhancing its core strengths and unique objectives.

In this context, the event will bring together key Brussels-based stakeholders and EU policy makers, to reflect on the strategic challenges and opportunities of the future Erasmus+ programme. It will also serve as a platform to discuss the findings and recommendations of the recently published ACA policy paper, "The future of Erasmus+ is the future of Europe. Why further invest in (higher) education at EU level?", developed jointly by ACA members (for more details, see ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, February 2025). The discussion will also feature recommendations from the ACA upcoming policy paper on specific areas for enhancement or improvement in the future Erasmus+ programme.

Contribute to these timely discussions by attending in-person in Brussels. Registration closes on 23 April 2025. Due to space limitations, registrations will be handled on a first come, first served basis.
