Universities UK. The Funding Environment for Universities: An Assessment. 2013. Pages: 64.
This report by Universities UK examines the impact of recent changes (i.e. economic uncertainty, changes to the funding of undergraduate students and student immigration arrangements) on the higher education sector in the United Kingdom. It primarily focuses on three areas of higher education provision: UK- and EU-domiciled undergraduate students, UK- and EU-domiciled postgraduate students, as well as non-EU-domiciled undergraduate and postgraduate students. The report suggests, for instance, that the government’s hardening of visa restrictions may have an impact on the long-term financial sustainability of the higher education sector, as many overseas students choose to study in the US and Canada rather than the UK.
