The Czech Republic Alumni programme accomplishes two milestones

The Czech Republic Alumni organized the first ever gathering of international graduates of Czech universities in the physical format. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm hosted the Alumni Meetup Sweden, attended by 50 Swedish alumni of Czech universities, Czech students currently studying in Sweden, representatives of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), and representatives of the Czech Embassy in Sweden. Ambassador Anita Grmelová gave the opening speech, followed by a speech by the Director of DZS, Michal Uhl. They emphasised the importance of building relationships with the graduates of Czech universities, and the significance of international experience for students.

DZS also published the report from the very first quantitative international alumni survey. The respondents were international alumni of a short-term or long-term bachelor's, master's, or doctoral study programme at a Czech university. They shared their reflections on their study experience, as well on the impact of studying abroad on their life, career, and relationship with the country. The survey took place in late 2021, and the results were very positive: 97% of alumni would recommend studying in the Czech Republic to others. 9 out of 10 alumni stated that studying in the country has contributed to improving their careers. Almost half of the respondents who studied full degree programmes stayed in the Czech Republic for work and only a third returned to their home country after graduation.
