The Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) – the national industry association for independent providers of post-compulsory education and training for Australian and international students – has recently launched a new journal promoting the study of private higher education.

The ACPET Journal for Private Higher Education is a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal for scholarly articles on the theory and practice of higher education in the context of the private sector. It aims to provide up-to-date perspectives of benefit to educators, scholars, students, practitioners, policy-makers and consultants, and covers the following areas: 

• higher education policy and practice; 
• teaching, learning and curriculum design; 
• quality assurance; 
• postgraduate education; 
• academic leadership and management; and 
• academic work.

The first edition will be issued in April 2012, and the deadline for submissions is set for the end of January 2012.
