The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), acting on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is set to launch the Nansen EDU programme—a targeted initiative to bolster higher education capacity and institutional collaboration between Norway and Ukraine.
Nansen EDU is designed to support Ukrainian universities in maintaining and enhancing academic offerings, pedagogical quality, and support services for both students and staff amid ongoing challenges. The programme is part of Norway’s broader Nansen initiative, which promotes long-term institutional engagement and capacity-building efforts.
The scheme is currently under development, with detailed guidelines and framework to be made available later this autumn. The first call for applications is slated for October 2025, backed by a tentative budget of NOK 80 million distributed over four years.
Eligible applicants must be Norwegian institutions of higher education holding official accreditation. Specific consortium composition requirements will be further clarified in the forthcoming call.
