On 17 October 2025, the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA), on behalf of the European Commission, hosted a Study in Europe webinar bringing together EU Delegations and Erasmus+ National Agencies (NAs) from across the world. Held twice to accommodate different time zones, the interactive sessions marked the first joint event of these two communities within the framework of Study in Europe 4.
Moderated by Raul Ranne, Senior Advisor at ACA, the webinar opened with welcoming remarks from Antoaneta Irikova, Programme Coordination Manager at the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), in the morning session, and Myriam Rancon, Project Adviser at EACEA, in the afternoon session. Both underlined the shared mission of EU Delegations and National Agencies to enhance Europe’s attractiveness as a study destination, and highlighted the value of stronger cooperation to increase the global impact of Europe’s higher education promotion.
Following the introduction, Johanna Hellwig, Campus France, provided an overview of Study in Europe 4, outlining its key activities and Gabriela Pátková, Head of Marketing at DZS, presented the Study in Europe toolkit—a comprehensive collection of promotional resources and materials designed to support both EU Delegations and National Agencies in their outreach and communication efforts.
The morning session featured a case study from Dr. Guido Schneiders, Director of DAAD Regional Office Jakarta, illustrating how collaboration between a National Agency and an EU Delegation can lead to better-coordinated participation in international education fairs and increased visibility for European higher education in third countries. In the afternoon session, Florine Snethlage, Communications Advisor at Nuffic, shared a complementary perspective, reflecting on practical lessons from joint activities and resource sharing between Nuffic and EU Delegations.
Participants then engaged in two parallel workshops fostering exchange and collaboration. The Resources and Materials session, facilitated by Florine Snethlage, focused on improving the visibility, accessibility, and local relevance of existing Study in Europe materials. The Market Intelligence session, facilitated by Sabina Maidla, International Marketing Specialist at Harno, explored how delegations and agencies can better share insights on student trends and market developments to inform strategic planning and outreach.
Discussions across both sessions emphasised the importance of continuous communication, coordinated planning, and a culture of mutual support. The plenary wrap-up summarised the key takeaways and reaffirmed participants’ commitment to closer collaboration under the Study in Europe initiative—laying the groundwork for more coherent and effective promotion of European higher education worldwide.
ACA warmly thanks all speakers and participants for their engagement and valuable contributions toward advancing collaboration under the Study in Europe initiative.
