On 30 November 2021, the most recent webinar of the STUDY IN ACAdemy series co-organised by ACA and its member the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) gathered almost 50 professionals from Czech higher education institutions, interested in learning how to Build a welcoming environment and services for international students and staff.
This webinar came at a moment when many higher education institutions explore ways to further professionalise and develop their services for incoming students and staff and to build a truly welcoming culture for international students and staff, to raise their global attractiveness and retain talent.
As a bespoke training programme, the webinar featured presentation of two experts in the field, Dr Andra-Mirona Dragotesc, Director Department of International Relations at West University of Timisoara (WUT) and Dr Thomas Buerman, Programme Manager in International Recruitment and Partnerships at Ghent University, who shared their experience in the field. The webinar concluded with two parallel sessions, stimulating discussions on the participants’ current approaches and further reflections on how to leverage good practice shared at the event in the Czech higher education context .
