In November, the European Commission published call for proposals for the ERC Advanced Investigators Grants, with
the aim to encourage substantial advances at the frontier of knowledge by supporting excellent, leading advanced investigators to
pursue ground-breaking, high-risk/high-gain research. Funding available for the call will be distributed to research projects in three major domains as follows:
- Physical Sciences & Engineering (44%);
- Life Sciences (39%);
- Social Sciences & Humanities (17%).
The Social Sciences & Humanities domain is currently the last one remaining open for proposals.
The minimum number of participants implies at least one independent legal entity established in one of the EU member states, or one of the associated countries.
