Still open: Education cooperation between the EU and Canada

In the context of the European Union - Canada framework for cooperation in higher education, training and youth (EU-Canada Programme) a call for proposals has been launched to fund joint study and training programmes allowing transatlantic exchanges between European and Canadian education institutions.

The funded activities, such as the development of curricula, joint study programmes, international internships, exchanges and studies abroad with provision for mutual credit recognition and language and cultural preparation, will benefit higher education students, vocational education and training learners and teachers/trainers/administrative staff. The main focus of activities must be on transatlantic rather than intra-European or intra-Canadian interactions.

This call for proposals is open to higher education institutions and to vocational education and training institutions in one of the 27 member states of the European Union and to Canada.

The maximum amount of funding on the EU side will be EUR 138 000 for a three-year consortium project. Projects are planned to start in September 2009 and last for 36 months.

Budget: EUR 1 104 000

Deadline: 1 April 2009
