Stepping up modernising higher education in Spain

OECD Reviews of Tertiary Education: Spain. OECD Publishing, 2009. ISBN: 978-92-64-03936-0. Pages: 171.

Spain has changed significantly over the past thirty years and has joined the ranks of countries with a modern, responsive and creative system of tertiary education. But the tertiary system must accelerate the pace of reform to respond to the new social and economic pressures. This is the main conclusion of the independent Review of Tertiary Education in Spain led by the OECD. The review is based on extensive background documentation prepared by the Spanish authorities complemented by a ten-day visit by the review team of five to Spain in May 2007.

The OECD drew upon this report on Spain and reports on the other 23 participating countries to prepare the international comparative report on tertiary education, Tertiary Education for the Knowledge Society (see the ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, September 2008).

The review is available as a PDF e-book from the OECD.
