Slovenia’s position on the future Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps

On 26 March 2025, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Position of the Republic of Slovenia on the Erasmus+ programme and the European Solidarity Corps in the period beyond 2027. This position paper was prepared by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Slovenian Youth Office, and the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport.

Based on the conclusions of the mid-term evaluation of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, the position paper addresses all fields of education and training, as well as youth and sports, and takes into account the views of stakeholders expressed at the events following the publication of the sector reports.

Key highlights of the position paper include the continuation of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps as two separate programmes, the continuation of the current horizontal priorities, with an additional focus on the promotion of European values, democracy, youth inclusion and mental wellbeing. It also puts emphasis on inclusion, recommending to strengthen support measures for participants with fewer opportunities. It also advocates for the further development of support systems, simplification of administrative procedures and an ambitious budget for the period 2028-2035, which should at least sustain the current level of activities under the programmes.
