The new Swedish Institute (SI) project Sweden Network aims at enlarging the existing Alumni Network for scholarship holders to include other foreign students and researchers in Sweden. An increasing number of foreign students and researchers, over 26,000 annually, come to Sweden for a six to twelve month period. As part of SI’s goal to maintain relationships with other countries, SI has initiated the building of a web based Network and communication platform for this academic group. The project is carried out in cooperation with universities, Swedish companies abroad as well as other Swedish agencies. The Network project aims at offering a communicative platform where foreign students and researchers can share their experience and build long lasting relations with Sweden.

The SI is increasingly committed to promoting Swedish higher education globally, something they hope to enhance by supporting alumni.
