On 12-13 April, ACA co-hosted a seminar in Pune, India as part of the Study in Europe project - global promotion of Europe as a study destination. The seminar was organised for the European Higher Education Experts (EHEEs) in India who are part of the expert network ACA is running within the project and the main goals of the seminar were on the one hand taking stock of the activities in the Indian network relating to the Study in Europe framework, and on the other, familiarising the newly joined experts with the initiative and project activities.

Second in this year’s series of Study in Europe seminars in the BRICS countries, the event was jointly organised by the ACA Secretariat and Professor Vijay Khare, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at the Savitribai Phule Pune University. Professor Khare, who is one of ACA’s European Higher Education Experts in India, kindly provided a meeting room in the university’s international centre and organised a visit to the campus for the entire delegation. The participating experts had an opportunity to meet the University’s Vice-Chancellor and discuss on this occasion the Study in Europe project and cooperation opportunities between European and Indian universities.

 

The seminar hosted around 15 participants - representatives of Indian universities, the ACA Secretariat, and the Indian higher Education expert on behalf of the EU Delegation in India, Mr Sanjeev Roy. During the two days of the seminar, the group engaged in highly relevant and constructive discussions, sharing experiences and looking into cooperation opportunities for universities and experts in the Indian EHEE network, but equally into cooperation with other EHEE networks, with ACA and European universities at large.
