This report provides an assessment of Egypt’s science, technology and innovation (STI) systems. The data included in this report were collected through interviews in late 2010 and in 2011, after the revolution. The authors outline Egypt’s strengths and weaknesses in the area of STI and provide recommendations on how to improve the country’s standing in STI. The topics of funding, educational system, available resources for research and development activities, and on-going and potential collaboration with other countries are analysed.
