Rectors of Baltic universities launch joint scholarship to boost cross-border cooperation

On 6 November the Rectors of the Universities of Tartu, Latvia and Vilnius agreed on a new joint scholarship. 
The aim of the initiative is to promote cross-border cooperation between the Baltic States as well as to foster the cultural, linguistic and tradition exchange between students. The scholarship’s amount is EUR 2000 and, in order to be eligible, students must possess a C1 level in one the three Baltic languages and at least an A2 level in the other two. Students of other nationalities can also apply, provided that they are enrolled in one of the three universities. 
The scholarship will be provided to one student per year, by each university in turn starting from Tartu university, whose rector as first had the idea of the joint scholarship programme.
