The publication is the result of an ENQA (European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) survey on quality procedures of quality assurance agencies across Europe and beyond.

The report updates the findings of the first ENQA survey undertaken in 2002, and considers the main developments that have taken place since then. In addition, the survey looks at:

• agencies' views on their compliance with the European Standards and Guidelines;
• their attitudes towards the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR – see March edition of the ACA Newsletter – Education Europe);
• and their external review plans.
