Promotion of Polish science at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka

In connection with Poland's participation in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, which will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025, ACA member NAWA, in partnership with PAIH, invites Polish universities and scientific institutes to participate in the “International Scientific Event at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka” programme, which aims to promote Polish science at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. 

The goal of the programme is to strengthen the international position of Polish higher education by initiating cooperation, presenting innovative projects and educational activities in Japan. All of them should focus on industries defined as those with the greatest export potential to Asian markets and the highest priority in relations with Japan: medicine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics sector, IT/Fintech sector, gaming sector, green technology sector (including hydrogen industry), agri-food sector (including AgriTech). 

Under the programme, applicants can receive funding for projects that include the following activities: 

  • Promoting Poland in the context of HE and science; 
  • Promoting the teaching and research offer of Polish institutions of HE and science; 
  • dissemination of the Polish language and culture abroad, the scope of which includes, in particular, the promotion and popularisation of the Polish language and Polish culture among foreigners abroad. 

Call deadline: September 16, 2024, until 3:00 pm. 

Implementation period: January 15 to October 31, 2025, with activities in Japan from April 15 to September 15. 
Budget: from PLN 100,000 to 400,000 (ca. EUR 23,000 to 93,000). 

As a prerequisite for the application, the Applicant must have proven experience in scientific or Higher Education cooperation with entities in Japan.
