Promoting European Higher Education through Educational Advising Centres’ Network – project comes to an end

After 14 months and a series of activities targeting educational advisors from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the project Promoting European Higher Education through Educational Advising Centres’ Network (PEHE EACN) is now coming to an end (for background information about the project/PEHE EACN, see ACA Newsletter – Education Europe, August 2005). ACA, as well as the ACA members DAAD, Nuffic and the British Council, has been an active participant in the project coordinated by the Open Society Institute Hungary.

Among the results PEHE EACN reached are:
  • A series of seminars, part of them run by ACA and ACA members’ staff, as well as visits to universities and colleges in Vilnius, Lithuania (in the context of the last seminar);
  • Training of and networking among 33 advisers from 26 locations over the six target countries in Central Asia and Caucasus. Importantly, the project reached staff from remote regions in the target countries;
  • Expansion of the information and consultation services provided by the advising centres: the educational advisers have started to act as multipliers and to use the information obtained in the seminars in their daily work.
