PROFFORMANCE+ final event showcases tools for teaching excellence

On 16 October 2025, the PROFFORMANCE+ project concluded with its final event in Budapest, gathering around 90 higher education experts and stakeholders from 14 countries. The event marked the culmination of five years of collaboration among the PROFFORMANCE and PROFFORMANCE+ consortiums, focused on enhancing teaching quality and professional development across Europe.

The project outcomes provide a comprehensive framework to support evidence-based teaching development through three key tools: the PROFFORMANCE Assessment Tool (PAT), the PROFFORMANCE Short Courses, and the Teaching Excellence Database. Together, these resources enable higher education institutions to evaluate teaching competences, plan targeted professional development, and share effective practices.

During the final phase of the project, the PROFFORMANCE consortium refined the Continuous Development Cycle (CDC) model, designed to integrate assessment, action planning, and stakeholder dialogue at individual, institutional, and policy levels. By linking evaluation with concrete improvement steps, the model encourages institutions to move from assessment to strategic action, ensuring continuous enhancement of teaching and learning quality.

Testing and feedback gathered during the event confirmed the practical applicability of the PROFFORMANCE toolkit. Participants emphasised its potential to strengthen institutional strategies, foster collaboration among teachers and policymakers, and enhance student engagement in quality development processes.

With the project’s formal conclusion, the PROFFORMANCE community continues as an open European network supporting innovation and excellence in higher education teaching. Its tools and resources remain freely accessible to institutions and educators, offering a shared foundation for advancing teaching quality and inclusivity across the European Higher Education Area.
