Carbonell, J.-A. Outward student mobility in the United Kingdom between 2006-07 and 2010-11. Growth in times of crisis. Kingston University, Surrey, 2012. Pages: 63.
This report is the fourth in a series presenting data on the number of students from the United Kingdom (UK) going abroad. For the year 2010/11, 190 institutions participated in the study. The results show that overall there has been an increase in outward student mobility. Between 2007/08 and 2010/11, Erasmus mobility increased by 25% and non-European mobility by 57%. However, the UK still lags behind Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland in terms of outward student mobility. This study also highlights the need for improvement in institutional and national level strategies to foster outward student mobility, as well as the need for adequate funding.
