The Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) is happy to announce the start of a new endeavour – the OpenSurvey study – an initiative funded by the European Commission’s Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) in Seville. The seven-month project is being jointly carried out by IPTS and ACA together with Prof. Marek Fuchs and Dr. Rita Morais. 

The study is based on a five country online survey, which is to map the provision of Open Education (OE) in individual higher education institutions and also look into institutional strategies/policies, perceptions, practices, motivations, challenges and solutions in the area of OE. The main question driving the study is how to higher education institutions use ICTs to widen access to education and learning, i.e. to open up? The countries that will be surveyed are France, Germany, Poland, Spain and the UK.  

The project team will also be advised by three renowned international experts – Prof. Ulrich Teichler (INCHER-Kassel), Michael Gaebel (EUA) and George Ubachs (EADTU). The results are to be delivered to IPTS in May 2015.
