OCEANS—a new association for students and alumni, staff and faculty members, partners and promoters of the EU Exchange Programmes with North American and the Asia-Pacific regions—was recently created. OCEANS stands for the Organisation for Co-operation, Exchange and Networking among Students. The network, created with EU funding and serviced by ICUnet.AG, a German company, is designed for students and alumni with diverse academic backgrounds from the EU countries, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and the USA. Like the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA), OCEANS strives to bring together the current and former beneficiaries of EU exchange programmes with the North American and Asia-Pacific regions, and to foster the exchange of international experience and knowledge transfer.
