Nuffic administers a new scholarship programme for immigrants in the Netherlands. The initiative belongs to ECHO, a centre of expertise in diversity policy, which created the ECHO Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to draw attention to the talent of immigrants in the Netherlands and to further develop their skills. It also aims to improve the quality of the education, the knowledge economy and society in general. Immigrants are stimulated to study or conduct research in a member country of the European Union. Eligible for the programme are students with a non-western background and Dutch nationality, or a permanent residence permit in the Netherlands. A scholarship offers a maximum of 4 000 euro for a period of three to six months.
