Johnson, L., Adams Becker, S., Estrada, V., Freeman, A. (2014). NMC Horizon Report: 2014 Higher Education Edition. Austin, Texas: The New Media Consortium. Pages: 52
The eleventh edition of the NMC Horizon Report: Higher Education Edition describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on learning, teaching, and creative inquiry in education. Six key trends and significant challenges over the next one to five years are in the higher education setting. This is a useful guide to campus leaders and practitioners for strategic technology planning.
This year’s report provides leaders with more in-depth insight into how the trends and challenges are accelerating and impeding the adoption of educational technology, along with their implications for policy, leadership and practice. It is one of three global reports within the NMC Horizon Report. The other two focus on primary and secondary education (K-12), and museum education.
