The Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER) has announced the appointment of their Secretary General. David Bohmert will take office on 1 March this year, succeeding Senior Advisor Manfred Horvat. A Dutch and Swiss national, Mr. Bohmert will lead the Leuven-based CESAER Office serving the membership comprising 50 leading European universities engaged in advanced engineering education and research. He will continue to work at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) as Swiss Delegate to the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). A graduate of the University of Amsterdam, Mr. Bohmert has extensive experience in education, research and innovation in the Netherlands, Switzerland and at European level.
