New database on effective practices in student success

The Effective Practices in Student Success (EPSS) database is a new project of the Educational Policy Institute (EPI). Over the next several years, EPSS will collect information about programmes and strategies that help students succeed in post-secondary education across the US, Canada, and beyond. The database is part of EPI efforts to provide useful information to practitioners who, in turn, would improve practices at higher institutions. EPSS will look for programmes that have documented and demonstrated success in retaining students until graduation. Post-graduate institutions are therefore encouraged to submit on-line programme information, which will be reviewed by an expert team before inclusion in the database. The EPSS launching is scheduled for March 2007. More information can be obtained from the Educational Policy Institute. EPI: Effective Practices in Student Success
