DAAD fosters student exchange with Israeli start-ups

The programme, which is named ´New Kibbutz´, offers students of all academic backgrounds and types of higher education institutions in Germany around 50 scholarships for internships of 2-6 months in several start-ups in Israel. ´New Kibbutz´ will be funded with EUR 3.5 million by the German Ministry of Education and Research. The German-Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv will be responsible for the distribution of the internships.

The goal of the new programme is to deepen and to extend the academic exchange with the ´Start-Up-Nation´ Israel, due to its long-lasting experiences and expertise especially in the fields of biotechnology, artificial intelligence and other high-tech fields. The programme does not only aim to facilitate an insight into the high-dynamic and innovative scene of entrepreneurship in Israel within the framework of deepening the friendship between Israel and Germany. It also seeks to motivate young students to create and found their own start-ups once back in Germany.
