The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is happy to announce that admissions to the Scholarship Programme for the Polish Diaspora will last from 11 February till 31 March 2019.
The Scholarship Programme for the Polish Diaspora, which implements the objectives of the Government Programme of Cooperation with Polish diaspora and Poles abroad, aims at enabling people who have documented their Polish origin and hold the Card of the Pole to have an opportunity to access higher education in Polish universities. In Poland, universities are regulated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (studies are in Polish and full-time).
Eligible candidates can start their 1st and 2nd degree studies as well as long-cycle studies. In case of 1st degree studies and master’s degree studies, students may undertake their studies 2 years after their matriculation exam at the latest, while in case of 2nd degree studies, they can start two years after the completion of 1st degree studies at the latest and cannot be older than 26. Scholarships for the Polish diaspora are addressed to the foreigners of Polish origin - citizens of: Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine; citizens of Central Asia, Latin America, Africa and, from 2019, the US.
The Programme provides a scholarship which covers the fees for the University and includes a monthly allowance of approximately PLN 1 250 (EUR 300) for 1st degree studies and PLN 1 500 (EUR 350) for 2nd degree studies. Approved candidates may participate in one-year preparatory course before the beginning of their studies.
