Managing the oversight of international branch campuses in higher education

Kevin Kinser and Jason E. Lane (2014), "Managing the oversight of international branch campuses in higher education", Higher Education Management and Policy, Vol. 24/3. Pages: 18

The study investigates how universities and colleges with international campuses have managed them over the past two decades. Data come from interviews with senior officials at institutions operating one or more international branch campuses and are used to identify the three primary managing areas of concern to multinational universities: faculty, curriculum and finances. The authors identify differing managerial strategies used by institutions for each area and further explore how these strategies relate to whether the branch is viewed as an integrated or separated component of the institution’s governance structure.
