“Lifelong Learning Week” at the European Parliament

From 14-17 March 2011 the European Civil Society Platform on Lifelong Learning (EUCIS-LLL), under the Directorate-General of Education and Culture, will sponsor Lifelong Learning Week: “Different Pathways to Learning” in Brussels. The objective of the week is to raise recognition – at the national and European level – of the various educational and training avenues available to individuals at all stages of life.

EUCIS-LLL is brings together under one umbrella 20 European networks working in education and training. These organisations cover all sectors of education and training including networks for higher education, vocational education and training, adult education and popular education. The week-long event will include:

  • an exhibition on the different pathways to LLL;
  • a roundtable on the social dimension of education and training;
  • a public hearing on the impact of transnational mobility schemes to develop personal, social and economic skills.
